Course Description

The student should be able to describe the operation and control of an DC Motor. Size the drive and motor, install and wire the drive.

Topics include: Locating and describing drive components. Configure switches and jumpers within the drive. Identify drive terminal points. Setting critical drive parameters, using the keypad to view and change parameters, read and Interpret control block diagrams. Use the display to aid in troubleshooting. Configure and start-up the Drive. Interface the drive with a PLC.

Labs include Drive startup, configuring Digital I/O, Speed References, Ramp Rates, Stop Modes, using Drive Software, Troubleshooting, and configuring communication modules for data transfer.
