Course Description
This course is a comprehensive overview of medium voltage circuit breakers used in industrial applications and covers main components, operation (single-line, 3 line diagram, connection and interconnection diagrams) and minor maintenance. It also covers the insertion/removal (Racking) of circuit breakers, arc-flash protection, safety, and PPE requirements.
Topics include: Status indicators, protective relaying (ANSI/IEE device numbering), and substation components, Control schemes: stored energy and magnetic, X-Y anti-pump control circuit, and breaker trip circuits.
